Summary of the editorial from IDS Pay Report 990, December 2007 The average earnings of all full-time employees reached £29,999, just a pound shy of £30K, in April 2007, according to figures from the Government’s Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) for this year, which was released on 7 November. Average earnings for all employees, both full-time and part-time, by contrast were over £5,000 lower, at £24,908. However, as averages, both figures are heavily influenced by incomes for highly-paid individuals and a large proportion of employees earn below these levels.
