In the twelve months to December 2011, the all-items Retail Prices Index (RPI) rose by 4.8 per cent, down from 5.2 per cent in the previous month. The Consumer Prices Index rose by 4.2 per cent, down from 4.8 per cent the previous month. And the RPIX, which excludes mortgage interest payments, rose by 5.0 per cent in the year to December, down from 5.3 per cent in the year to November.
