Analysis of foundation trusts and non-executive directors

The NHS continues to undergo major changes as more and more trusts seek foundation status, but what is happening to executive remuneration now that these trusts have a greater level of independence?

The report examines over 90 per cent of foundation trusts providing a detailed picture of what is happening within these new types of trust. In addition and related to this, with the increased level of independence accompanying moves to foundation status the role of non-executive directors will surely become more prominent. For this reason, for the first time the report examines the level of fees for both non-executive chairmen and directors.
