Extract from IDS Executive Compensation Review 319 Management pay awards gather pace Our latest quarterly round-up of management pay inflation shows that private sector salary increases in the latest quarter are running ahead of the six-year high recorded at the start of the year. Based on 103 private and public sector pay awards, the latest results further reveal that the average private sector increases are some 0.6 percentage points ahead of the figure recorded for the same period last year. Analysis of the distribution of the most recent awards confirms the upward trend and shows that, as last quarter, none of the surveyed employers reported a pay freeze in the period. In the background to the latest pay decisions is price inflation, which until July, was hovering just below 4.5 per cent although latest figures indicate that the upward pressure is beginning to ease. This article provides tables showing the management pay settlements over the latest quarter and analysis is provided by industry sector and level of seniority.
