Extract from IDS Executive Compensation Review 317 ECR surveys IT management pay With today's large organisations relying extensively on their IT infrastructures, the managers and professionals responsible for their efficient running are now key employees. To help employers benchmark their pay rates, for the first time ever, we have conducted a salary survey of all levels of IT staff. The research is based on salary information collected during the Spring of this year from a total of 44 organisations employing around 4,000 IT staff, spread across the finance, manufacturing, service and public sectors. This article covers six management-related jobs - head of IT, operations manager, senior project manager, project manager and graduate trainee. A full breakdown of the findings for the management-related IT jobs are provided, with analysis given in a pay data summary, with tables showing salary rates for all positions and rates by sector. The last table provides a breakdown of results by named organisation.
