Extract from IDS Executive Compensation Review 315 Housing association directors’ remuneration With the provision of social housing in the UK largely passing into the hands of housing associations the remuneration of those responsible for their activities has become more prominent. To help associations benchmark the pay of their board members, we draw on the latest available annual accounts of 65 housing associations to give a picture of how much executive directors in the sector earn. Increasingly, Government and local authorities are channeling funds to housing associations as the principal means of meeting social housing needs, and if earnings growth is a sign of the buoyancy of the sector, then last year’s pay increases for top housing association directors suggest that their area is booming. From their annual accounts, remuneration details were analysed for chief executives or HPDs along with finance and other directors where possible. A full breakdown of the findings are provided in tables which show aggregate amounts earned as well as highest-paid director earnings by named organisation.
