Extract from IDS Executive Compensation Review 302, April 2006 Payroll managers’ pay and benefitsFor the past nine years we have been conducting our own survey of the pay and benefits of senior payroll management. Results of our latest survey are based on information collected from 30 manufacturing, service, finance and public sector employers contacted between February and March 2006. For this survey we collected pay and job data for the most senior payroll managers and their deputies from organisations of all sizes. The numbers on the payroll of the organisations we contacted varied from 100 to 58,000, while their activities covered, among others, retail, banking, professional services and chemicals. A full breakdown of salary levels for both payroll managers and their deputies is presented in tables as well as information on duties and responsibilities and bonuses and benefits received. An analysis of the most recent salary awards for payroll managers is also provided.
