IDS Diversity at Work is a monthly journal which aims to provide timely, accurate and high quality information on workplace diversity, equal opportunities and discrimination law. Stamping out bullying at Royal Mail

In 2003, under the leadership of a new Chair and faced with the threat of a formal investigation by the Equal Opportunities Commission into complaints of sexual harassment of its female employees, Royal Mail Letters embarked on a major programme to eliminate bullying and harassment from the workplace. This case study takes a look at what it did, its ongoing efforts, and what impact it has had.

Sex Discrimination Act amended

Following successful judicial review proceedings brought by the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 has had to be amended to give full effect in domestic law to the Equal Treatment Amendment Directive. In this article, we outline the changes to the law on harassment related to sex and discrimination on the grounds of pregnancy and maternity leave.
