IDS Pay Report

IDS Report 1043 reports on BALPA's response to the recession, and its use of accountants and city analysts to very employers' claims for the necessity of job cuts. We also look at how the not-for profit sector has been hit.

Using data from ASHE - the Annual Survey of Hours and Holidays - we compare the earnings distributions for men and women and show that women continue to earn less on average than men working in the same jobs. We ask whether employers should be concerned about equal pay in the light of the EHRC's proposal for a series of voluntary measures under which companies might publish information on their gender pay gaps.

We consider the findings of a new report from the Migration Policy Institute and the EHRC on the impact of EU migration on the UK labour market.

Pay and Conditions in Retail 2010 includes analysis of pay and conditions in 71 leading retail organisations, covering a total of 1.4 million employees.
