Company History

All of our work is focused on employment-related areas and our output draws on almost 50 years’ experience in this field. The first IDS publication was launched in 1966 with one very simple aim: to provide accurate and timely information that could be put to practical use by all those involved in determining employment policies in Britain. From this one very simple idea, IDS has grown with our clients to offer subscription services and publications that span across the employment law field. We have provided expertise to thousands of businesses, government, trade unions and tribunals for almost half a century. In September 2005 the company was acquired by Sweet & Maxwell, part of Thomson Reuters.
