Incomes Data Services (IDS) is a research organisation. All our work is focused on employment-related areas and our output draws on many years of experience in this field.

The first IDS publication - IDS Pay Report - was launched in 1966 with one very simple aim: to provide accurate and timely information which could be put to practical use by all those involved in determining pay, benefits and related employment policies in Britain. The concept may seem obvious now, but then, the idea was a novelty. Since then more information services have been launched by IDS to cover new areas in the employment field.

Today IDS publishes eight subscription services and a wide range of publications across the employment field. We also run conferences and training courses, and offer bespoke research.

In September 2005 the company was acquired by Sweet & Maxwell, part of Thomson Reuters.
